Question: Is there any food you don't eat? 

My answer: For me, that's a loaded question because I changed my diet about a decade ago. I don't eat pork or beef. But I do eat chicken. I don't eat potato chips. But I love making homemade popcorn. I don't eat ice cream. But I eat low-fat greek yogurt. I'm not a picky eater. Rather what I eat is heart healthy!

Question: What is your idea of the perfect date? 

My answer: I feel like I answered this question before... I like nature. So, going to the park, taking a walk, exploring the city or a walking trail is my idea of the perfect date.

The Stanley Cup playoffs: Start the countdown!

It's all about the Stanley Cup! 

As a teacher, I get free admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame. So, I've been a few times over the years. This museum is a hockey paradise. There is tonnes of hockey memorabilia, a 'shoot out' simulator, and often NHL players will do a 'question and answer' session. Also, the Stanley Cup, the Holy Grail of hockey, is usually on display. Touching the Cup is always a surreal experience. There is a lot of history in that sports trophy!

My Homemade Breakfast Bars

These "Breakfast Bars" are easy to make and packed with energy! No artificial sugar added. 

Ingredients: Bananas, blueberries, oatmeal, maple syrup, cinnamon, a pinch of salt. Bake for 15-18 minutes at 350 degrees.

The total solar eclipse was the big news story of the day. Where I live in Ontario, Canada, it was only a partial eclipse due to cloud cover. But wow. It was still pretty spectacular. It went from daylight to night in a matter of minutes. In a way, this eclipse brought the world together to celebrate nature. And that's amazing in itself.

The "Snap Cup" Philosophy

In Legally Blonde 2, Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) introduces us to the "snap cup". The general idea of this cup is when you're having a disagreement, a conflict with a co-worker or friend, use the snap cup to de-escalate the conflict. Write down something nice about the other person (e.g., tribute, expression of admiration), put it in the cup and then read all the "snaps" aloud. With growing political polarization and division, I think we could all use a snap cup!
